Island Living

I met India Hicks at a book Signing at RL years ago.  I was completely captivated by her.  She was stunning, but yet she wasn't just another RL model.
Yes, India is a model turned interior designer, daughter of the late interior design icon David Hicks, granddaughter of Lord Mountbaten, the last Viceroy of India, bridesmaid to Princess Diana, goddaughter to Prince Charles. But it was more than that.  She is a mother.  Beautiful, strong, confident.  There are many similar women out there like her, but not many that have the strength to follow their heart, and live their dream.  Ralph Lauren said it perfectly in the Foreword of her book Island Life.
 "The style of her homes on the island is impressive and I was also captivated by the romance of the story that lay behind their creation. It strikes me that many people may dream of leaving high-profile lives in New York or London to go and live on a tropical island, but very few actually do it - or have the imagination and creativity to make it work."

Here are some amazing shots my brother took while fishing at Stellwagen Bank last summer.  Amazing.  Hopefully I'll get the chance to go next summer.  If not, I'll go to Cisco and get a few whales Tales of my own.  Wow.  That sounds so great.

Love Love Love my painting

God knows I'm not a writer, or an artist. It is difficult for me to describe how much this painting means to me. I can stare at it and get lost for hours. Really.
One thing I love about Nantucket is the artists that you will see daily, sitting there in front of there easels for hours on end, meticulously painting whatever seems beautiful to them that day. My painting was done by the artist Anthony Panzera. This painting, along with the other artists on island, was the inspiration for the Ralph Lauren windows last summer. He was nice enough to lend them his easel he used every summer to create his beautiful paintings!! If you get the chance this summer, swing by Quidley & Co on Main Street to see his other work. Winter on Nantucket

What's better than the first sight of Great Point lighthouse? All the stress seems to fade away, calmness takes over....... time to regroup. Most people leave the island for the winter, I on the other hand, long for it. No street lights, no lines at Bartlett, no reservations for Lola.
